Continuing with the recaps of missions teams that visited Rwanda to work alongside RCRI this year, July brought a team of seven adults and one two year-old from ONE Church in Seneca, SC for a two-week trip. This team began their trip at Nyabihu Christian Academy, splitting into teams:
One team assisted with feeding the kids and assisting the teachers and staff around the school,
One team built wooden bookcases for the classroom,
And one team assisting the constructions workers on site with the ongoing expansion of the school. The project at the time was completion of the foundation and the beginning of the block walls for the P6 classroom being added.
The second week was spent in the greater Kigali area, where the ladies met with a young women’s group to encourage them and share wisdom about self-respect and purity.
The rest of the team undertook a large project to repair and re-mud the home of one of the RCRI beneficiaries with the help of local workers.
And finally, while there were lots of “side-projects” going on, the bulk of the rest of the team’s time was spent doing home visits, praying, fellowshipping, giving out supplies, and encouraging families.
